Blanc is built by Bananify, an independent software studio. Product decisions, design, development, and support all lead back to the same small team.
the studio
Bananify designs and develops Blanc, writes its release notes, and answers its support email. Being small means feedback does not travel through departments before it reaches someone who can act on it.
the model
Blanc has no venture funding and no investors setting its product agenda or exit timetable. It is not funded by selling ads or turning browsing activity into an audience product. That keeps the incentives simple: make a browser people want to keep using.
supporters
Blanc is free, and everything that makes it a browser stays free — blocking, encrypted sync, private tabs, tab groups, quiet tabs, and passkeys. Blanc Patron is an optional subscription — $30 a year or $4 a month — that funds the work and adds three macOS Dock colorways plus named workspaces on every platform. Creating a named workspace requires an active Patron subscription. Renaming and removing existing workspaces continue to work if it lapses. Supporters who bought the earlier one-time purchase keep everything, free, forever.
