after manifest v2

Chrome stopped running full uBlock Origin. Blanc still includes it.

Since Chrome 138 in July 2025, Chrome has disabled Manifest V2 extensions for every user, and on August 31, 2026 Google removed the remaining ones from the Chrome Web Store. The full uBlock Origin is a Manifest V2 extension. Blanc, a desktop browser built on Chromium, includes it as an optional blocker.

what you get

The full uBlock Origin, not a Lite version.

The tools you used.

Blanc includes uBlock Origin 1.75.0 with its popup, dashboard, logger, element picker, custom filters and filter-list subscriptions.

Filter lists still update.

Filter lists can update on their own. uBlock Origin itself updates only with reviewed Blanc releases.

Not uBO Lite.

uBlock Origin Lite is a separate extension its developers built on Chrome’s newer Manifest V3 API, and it filters declaratively. Blanc includes the original uBlock Origin.

Three steps to switch.

2. Choose uBlock Origin from the shield.

Click the shield on the island, choose uBlock Origin, then restart Blanc to apply it. Blanc Blocker stays the default until you switch.

3. Bring your settings, if you saved them.

uBlock Origin’s backup and restore work in Blanc, so a backup file from another browser can be restored in its dashboard. Advanced settings that point to custom resource URLs stay blocked.
